This is a high strength iron product at 200% of the Nutrient Reference Value, so take one capsule daily and no more, and do not take it alongside another iron containing supplement or multivitamin. Do not take iron unless you know you need it: if you have haemochromatosis, another iron storage disorder, or any condition that requires repeated blood transfusions, do not use this product, and if you are unsure whether you are low in iron, ask your doctor for a blood test first. Iron commonly causes constipation, dark stools or stomach upset, so take it with food if it unsettles you. Iron reduces the absorption of several medicines, including some antibiotics, thyroid medication and bisphosphonates, so leave at least two hours between them, and speak to your doctor before use if you take any prescription medication.
